Dear Public Meeting Participants:

I would like to thank those of you who attended and participated in the Valley Highway Project Community and Environmental Resources Public Meetings held on January 22nd and 28th, 2004. The objectives of the meetings were to present the three system “build” alternatives, the no action system alternative, existing conditions (community and environmental resources), and potential impacts. I appreciate your written and verbal comments on the various aspects of the project. Your comments and our responses have been summarized and are available on the Valley Highway Project website at www.valleyhighway.com or a copy can be requested by contacting the Valley Highway Hotline at (720) 489-7923. Spanish translation of the Colorado Department of Public Transportation (CDOT) response to comments is also available upon request.

The January 2004 public meetings are the fourth set of meetings held as part of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) process. Draft EIS document will be prepared during the spring and summer of 2004, and is expected to be issued for the public in the fall of 2004. The release of the Draft EIS will begin a 45-day public review period. It is important that you review and comment on the Draft EIS. A postcard identifying the locations where the Draft EIS will be available for review will be sent to all individuals on our project mailing list and residents and businesses in the project area. The Draft EIS will also be available on the website. A formal public hearing will also be held during this review period in fall 2004.

If you have questions, concerns, or general comments, please contact the I-25 Valley Highway Hotline at (720) 489-7923 or submit your comment with the electronic feedback form on the project website. CDOT and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) will continue to keep the public informed about the progress of the I-25 Valley Highway Project. For updated project information, please visit our web page at www.valleyhighway.com.

Thanks again for your continued participation,

Tony Gross
