Over the past several months, we have been diligently working on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Valley Highway Project. As you know, this project involves the reconstruction and reconfiguration of the I-25 Corridor between Logan Street and 6th Avenue (US 6), including elements of 6th Avenue from I-25 to Federal Boulevard, and Santa Fe Drive and Kalamath Street in the vicinity of Alameda Avenue. While we work with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to complete the Draft EIS, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your involvement in this three-year EIS process. Your willingness to get involved and give us your ideas and concerns has been very valuable. We hope you will continue to be involved in the EIS process.
Our next step will be to hold a formal public hearing on the Draft EIS in early 2005. The exact dates and locations will be determined once the Draft EIS is ready for release. We will notify you as soon as we have this information so that you can participate in this important step in the process. If you would like additional information about the project, please visit our website at www.valleyhighway.com. You can also call the Valley Highway Project hotline at 720-489-7923, and a project team member will respond. Thank you again for your commitment to your community and its current and future transportation needs. Sincerely,
Tony Gross, Valley Highway Project Manager
